There’s nothing like getting back to your laptop after eating a good burger and seeing that a music video to one of your all-time favourite Jason Mraz videos has been released.
Not to mention the fact that you’re wearing the T-shirt you got when you volunteered at his concert a few days before his birthday and heard the same song live.

Can someone please agree with me in saying that the lyrics to Jason Mraz and James Morrison’s “Details in the Fabric” are some of the best gosh darn lyrics there have ever been?
I feel like actually analysing the whole thing.

I’ve been such a bad blogger recently SORRY GUISE.
I volunteered for Reverb at the Jason Mraz concert in Raleigh (which I got back from about an hour ago). It was the best thing ever; the reverb volunteer team met up about 90 minutes before doors opened, we sold stickers, raised awareness, and got along really well.
The concert itself was flawless. I wrote Hannah a wall-post about it so I’ve copied&pasted the setlist from there in all caps.
SETLIST:
- THE REMEDY
- THE FREEDOM SONG
- BELLA LUNA
- TONIGHT, NOT AGAIN
- WHO’S THINKING ABOUT YOU NOW
- LUCKY
- FRANK D. FIXER
- RAY OF SUNSHINE
- PLANE
- LIVING IN THE MOMENT
- WOMAN I LOVE
- BEAUTIFUL MESS
- I’M COMING OVER
- YOU FXCKN DID IT
- BUTTERFLY
- SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED COVER
- I’M YOURS
- THREE LITTLE BIRDS COVER
- SONG FOR A FRIEND
- DISTANCE (WITH CHRISTINA PERRI)
- HIS OWN HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONG FOR CHRISTINA BECAUSE IT WAS HER BIRTHDAY
- 93 MILLION MILES
- I WON’T GIVE UP
It was perfection.
I got a free volunteer T-Shirt, bought Hannah a thing, and bought myself a set of J-Mraz badges.
I’d write more about it but I’m super tired and I don’t really know what to say about it.
After I got home I saw that my brother got two bow-ties and that the people we’re staying with bought me a beautiful purple and blue dress (pics later).
I also had a bagel for brekkie, CPK for lunch, and a burrito for dinner.
So yes good.

On the 19th of August, 2012, not only do I get to see Jason Mraz live in concert in Raleigh, North Carolina, but I get to volunteer for Reverb.
Reverb is a non-profit organisation that focuses on finding all the environmentally friendly alternatives for tours. I would explain some more, but their website does that job better.
If anyone else is going to be at that concert, do let me know.
I’m really, really, really excited. The only tiny thing that blunts the joy is the fact that I won’t be standing next to Hannah for the duration of the concert. It won’t be the same with her in Australia while I’m in the US.
All-in-all, I’m pretty damn stoked for this trip. It’s August now so that means we’ve got 10 days until we leave. I’ve got to finish my Merlin rewatch (4 episodes to go), clean out my cupboard, make a shopping list, and pack. Wow.

Today I used up the last of the credit on my Dubai Mall gift voucher that I got for my last birthday on Jason Mraz’s new album (overdue) and two of John Green’s novels. I didn’t see “An Abundance Of Katherines” there but I’ll check again when I have more money.

John Mayer’s album, “Born n Raised,” comes out 3 days before my brother and his friends graduate from high school.
I hope mum let’s me preorder it as well as Mraz’s “Love is a four letter word.”
Good year for music eh?
All that needs to happen is either John Mayer playing here, or him playing somewhere in the states on my birthday.

Just chillin with Hannah and Mrazzah (that’s what we call him, us besties).
Gosh you guys, it was just so beautiful.
It was one of the best nights of my entire life just being in the same 100m^2 of him.
So I just saw Jason Mraz live,
And he was just as awesome as I thought and hoped he would be!
I mean, he played all of his awesome songs, including The Remedy, which was the very first song of his I’d discovered years and years ago by accident and that had eventually made me a fan of his, but he also played Fly Me To The Moon, Take Five, and a bit of Wonderwall, which was just too awesome.
And just before I’m done overusing the word ‘awesome’, I just have to use it in earnest once more to describe the fact that he spent a solid five minutes making whale noises. Literally.
Trying to singSinging whale song. Definitely the highlight of my night!Anyway, after a 30 minute motorcycle ride home on a cold night (Dubai cold, that is), I can definitely say that my jumper is feeling very toasty and comfortable right now!
He was absolutely brilliant. He even got the whole crowd to do a sinister, evil laugh.
The next concert I go to is going to have a hard time reaching the level of amazing that this hit. Although the next one will be far too different— Avenged Sevenfold.
I can’t wait for Mraz’s new album.
Ah.

Did you miss the fact that he even played Fly Me To The Moon and Take Five? :O SO AWESOME. AND THE WHALE SOUNDS. AH, THE WHALE SOUNDS.
I couldn’t get any words out during Fly Me To The Moon because OHMYGOD and TAKE FIVE I WAS FREAKING OUT TO HANNAH AND SHE WAS LIKE WUT YES OKAY.
I had a legit breakdown.
My sobs at the beginning of his concert were akin to my sobz at REICHENBACH.
Short summary
Jason Mraz came on stage and started playing butterfly and I sobbed to the point of big being able to sing.
He said “merci beaucoup” and then said a bunch of things in an English accent.
He sang a song about being underwater and made whale noises and got everyone to make whale noises.
He sang The Remedy and put the first verse of Wonderwall by Oasis into it.
We were the first audience he ever sang I Won’t Give Up with.
He went off stage and then came back and sang I’m Yours and got everyone to scat along. He made everyone do an evil laugh.
He did lots of sexy things.
It was the best night.
In my top 5.
Holy shit I just saw Jason Mraz live.
Hannah I love you.

Dubai Jazz Festival?
More like Dubai Jizz Festival.
James Blunt, James Morrison, Jools Holland, and Jason Mraz.
I’ll only be seeing Jason Mraz. I saw James Morrison at the festival last year and I’m not as big a fan of James Blunt as Jason Mraz. I’d really love to see Jools Holland too, but the tickets are expensive enough for one night.
Tickets go on early bird sale (for mastercard holders only) in 3 days, and mum’s gonna buy them then (a.k.a I shall bug her into buying them on the first day).
I’m really excited to see Jason Mraz. I know pretty much every lyrics to every song. He’s just so damn brilliant.
I’d been dreaming about seeing him live for ages, watching videos and interviews and such.
Need I mention that this is a big deal?
It will also mark ±1 year since I saw Joshua Radin and Train live, which was also a pretty big deal for me (more so for Joshua Radin). Also, it will be a bit over 1 year since I saw ERIC CLAPTON, which was more than a big deal.
BTW, 2 months and 28 days, if anyone’s counting.

Picnics are fun,
Even when the sprinklers in the park go off as soon as you start eating and you have to grab what you can and run.
Good day.
Gonna spend the rest of the day reading and just sort of being lazy. Might do some art.
1 month until Christmas.
1 month and 6 days until my brother turns 18.
2 months and 29 days until I see Jason Mraz live.
Wow.
Why all the counting? I guess I’m just a county girl. As county as those county councils counting cows, that own an average 1% of each national park in England.
