Being social is tiring.

Background information first: D’Arcy and I are recording a cover of So Far Away by A7X. We’ve been planning this since probably the day after the concert in May when I texted him saying MISSY WE SHOULD COVER AN A7X SONG or something to that degree.

The plan was for D’Arcy to come over, record the cover with me, and then for others to come by and play some karaoke. Nobody could come because they were either leaving the country yesterday/today or couldn’t get here due to transport/parents. Also, we were meant to have Subway delivered for lunch so that we could use our coupons but because of Ramadan they didn’t deliver before 4:30pm. I called about 5 other places before resorting to Burger King.

Today we FINALLY got around to it, 3 days before he leaves to New Zealand for his summer family trip. It was meant to be me playing the acoustic guitar, him playing the electric guitar, and hopefully some drums from Daniel (but when Daniel was here we had no drums for him to play and then he left). Recently, however, my wrist has been a mess so I played the ukulele instead (don’t have to bend my hand as much to reach around the neck). So yeah, with him playing the electric guitar, me playing the uke and singing, we spent about 3 hours getting most of it down. All of my uke/singing bits are down (I think), and his clean guitar bits are in so he’s just gonna get the rest in when he’s at home so that he can use his amp and get some good distortion.

I think it’s going pretty damn well. Would’ve been awesome if we had more time before he left so that we could finish it and then record the video together before summer ended but alas, it doesn’t seem as though that will happen.

Around 5:45, An got here and sat around while we finished last bits of our recording. Then we watched some My Strange Addiction videos before mum called us downstairs for homemade gnocchi. SO DELICIOUS. Mum also made marble cheesecake which was really, really good.

All-in-all today was tiring but fun; I do love spending time with Missy & An.

I know it’s only 9pm but I might just go to sleep soon because I am BEAT.
